Frank Diaz is the Founder and Director of the Institute for Mindfulness-Based Wellness and Pedagogy and a professor at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. He is also Co-Director of the Music and Mind Lab and an Affiliate Member of the Cognitive Science Department at IU. Frank is also a recognized Zen Buddhist teacher and has taught secular and religious meditative practices to thousands of students across the United States. Allen is the founding teacher and Director of Mindful USC and a senior teacher at InsightLA where he has taught mindfulness classes for the past 12 years. He also spent years of his life as a professional musician, touring the country opening for bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd and Bonnie Raitt. In this episode we talk about mindfulness exercises for hard times, our relationship with fear, how to make meditation a habit, principles for increasing the odds of contentment, seeing results from your practice, and quantum leaps in learning.

Clyde Lieberman is the 3 x Emmy Award Winning Supervising Producer of NBC's “The Voice”- the most watched Prime Time show of the last 10 years- and new music show "Songland". As Supervising Producer, Clyde is involved in the day to day production of every musical aspect of both shows. We are thrilled to be the platform for Clyde's first ever interview since becoming Supervising Producer. Clyde started out in A&R and music publishing and he talks about his interactions with the Wu Tang Klan and The Roots, among others. Bret “Epic” Mazur is a record producer, and founder and frontman of rap rock group Crazy Town. In the early 90s, he and Wolf formed a successful production duo, “Wolf And Epic”, working on projects with Prince, Seal, The Rebirth of Cool, New Edition and Bell Biv Devoe. In this episode, Bret talks about life on the road with Crazy Town, the vagaries of the music business, the highs of performing and the seduction of substance addiction. He shares stories of hitting bottom and how he was able to overcome the pitfalls of rock notoriety with the help and encouragement of others and by learning the healthful practices of meditation, breathing exercises and managing the ego. Bret graciously shares some of his favorite meditation techniques as well as the benefits of his devoted gratitude practice.
